Well, as predicted in my previous post, we have been at it again. Here are the latest changes to the itinerary:
We decided to scrap China from the trip, for various reasons such as the difficulty in getting visas, the travel constraints, as well as the possibility of cold weather (yuk!). The kids were a bit disappointed not to be going to see the giant pandas, but we made up for it by adding a special destination….
As luck would have it, one of the few places in the world where you can go and see live giant pandas is Singapore. So, off we go to Singapore to visit the pandas, which will be a lot less hassle than going to China to see them. Personally, I’m quite happy about not having to go to China, which is not a destination that interests me.
Next change: we will use the time saved by skipping China by adding another destination: Bali, Indonesia. Why Bali? Well, it’s a tropical paradise, and a tourist destination par excellence. This stop will be to compensate for skipping Easter Island and French Polynesia. There’s a lot of things to see and do on Bali, as well as having great weather. What’s not to love?
I must say that I’m very happy with the China-Bali switch! I wonder what will be the next change…. keep checking back to find out!
