Here is the summary of our second and final week in India, as told by Gregory & Nina:
January 30th, 2017 at 17h30
We left our friend’s house in Delhi to go to the station. We took a night train. I slept well, but people kept brushing past my curtain. Nina.
January 31st, 2017 at 07h00
We woke up at around 7 am. When we got to Udaipur, we went straight to the hotel. The view from the hotel was very impressive. The lake is very beautiful! There is a hotel floating in the middle of the lake. We went to visit a Hindu temple and we bought a silk painting made with colors ground from precious stones. We also went to visit the City Palace. There was a museum that we went to see. In the middle of the palace they were preparing a big wedding celebration. Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and went to the pool. The water was freezing! Nina.
February 1st, 2017
We woke up at around 07h30 and went to a restaurant for breakfast. I had a mango lassi (the best thing in the world!). We went back to the museum to take a boat ride around Lake Pichola. We stopped on an island. There wasn’t much to do there. Afterwards, we took a rickshaw into town to buy some flip-flops for daddy and Nina, and we ate spicy food at a restaurant. After lunch, we risked our lives trying to cross the road. We bought a small stone statue of Ganesh and mummy got some pants. We relaxed at the hotel and had dinner on a rooftop while watching Octopussy, the James Bond film that was mostly filmed here. Gregory.
Feb. 2nd, 2017
We woke up around 07h00, had breakfast, and left the hotel because Haider was waiting to take us on a tour of Udaipur. We visited a Moghul cemetery, and the Princess Gardens, which was not very impressive since the fountains were not nice. We also visited another lake and took a cable car up a hill. Haider took us to a place where the do miniature painting and we bought two. It was very interesting. We had lunch and got back on the train to Jaipur. The train arrived at 22h30. Gregory.
Feb. 3rd, 2017
In the morning we switched hotels. Afterwards, we went to visit an old observatory. We hired a guide, but he was useless. We learnt a lot despite the guide. Afterwards, we went to the hotel to relax. Nina.
Feb. 4th, 2017
Today we went to visit the Amber Fort outside Jaipur. There were loads of monkeys everywhere. We climbed up to the top of another fort. We saw the biggest wheeled cannon in the world! Afterwards, we went back to the hotel and I began writing this text. We are now waiting for our train back to Delhi. Gregory.
